A$1.405m cash balance as Pearl Gull suspension continues

Mining By Maxwell Dee 3 min read

Pearl Gull Iron remains suspended from ASX trading while it searches for a transaction that could satisfy Listing Rule 12.1 and support reinstatement. The company ended September with A$1.405 million in cash and expects a further A$2.0 million payment in December from its Cockatoo Island sale.

  • ASX suspension continues pending Listing Rule 12.1 compliance
  • A$1.405 million cash balance at 30 September 2026
  • A$2.0 million deferred Cockatoo Island payment expected in December
  • A$142,000 quarterly operating cash outflow
  • No exploration expenditure or current tenement interests

Trading suspension remains the central issue

Pearl Gull Iron Limited (ASX:PLG) has made no breakthrough on the issue keeping its shares suspended: the company is still searching for a transaction capable of satisfying ASX Listing Rule 12.1 and supporting a return to official quotation.

The September quarterly report says Pearl Gull is reviewing opportunities across commodities and geographic jurisdictions with support from its corporate adviser. No specific transaction has been identified or announced, leaving the company’s reinstatement dependent on an outcome that remains undefined. The suspension followed the disposal of its main asset, a process covered in the earlier Cockatoo Island project sale.

Cash gives Pearl Gull time to search

Pearl Gull held approximately A$1.405 million in cash at 30 September, down from A$1.547 million at the end of June. Operating activities consumed A$142,000 during the quarter, comprising A$99,000 in administration and corporate costs and A$48,000 in staff costs, partly offset by A$5,000 of interest received.

On the quarter’s reported spending rate, the Appendix 5B calculates approximately 9.9 quarters of funding. That figure is a mechanical estimate based on the latest cash outflow and does not establish how long the search for a transaction will take, nor does it account for any future costs associated with pursuing or completing one.

Deferred sale proceeds remain due in December

The company also expects to receive A$2.0 million during December under the agreement for the sale of its 100% interest in the Cockatoo Island Project, which completed in December 2025. That payment has not yet been received. Pearl Gull retains a 4% indirect equity interest in Crestlink and royalties payable on certain materials extracted from the former project tenements, but it currently holds no tenement interests.

Annual meeting is the next fixed date

Pearl Gull’s Annual General Meeting is scheduled for 13 November 2026. Beyond that meeting and the expected December receipt, the company has not provided a timetable for identifying a transaction, satisfying Listing Rule 12.1 or seeking reinstatement. Until those steps occur, shareholders remain exposed to a listed vehicle with cash and residual project-linked interests but no operating exploration portfolio and no trading market.

Bottom Line?

Pearl Gull has cash to continue its search, but reinstatement still depends on finding and completing a transaction that has not yet been disclosed.

Questions in the middle?

  • What transaction, if any, can Pearl Gull secure to satisfy Listing Rule 12.1?
  • Will the expected A$2.0 million December payment be received on schedule?
  • How will the company deploy its cash and residual Crestlink and royalty interests while the suspension continues?
