OptiBlend Drives Eden US Sales Surge
Eden Innovations Ltd (ASX:EDE) has started FY27 with its strongest commercial signal in the filing: unaudited management figures show Eden US sales rose 152% year on year to US$381,612 for the September quarter. OptiBlend did most of the heavy lifting, with sales up 247% to US$259,863, while EdenCrete product sales increased 60% to US$121,749.
The OptiBlend orders came from genset packagers, drilling contractors and other customers across Texas, Louisiana and Florida. Eden also shipped its first OptiBlend unit to Brazil, valued at approximately US$26,000. The company has submitted 16 US quotations worth about US$916,242, alongside further quotes in Mexico and Bolivia, plus an approximately US$249,000 proposal tied to a US Army Corps of Engineers project that remains in the bidding process.
EdenCrete Installations Expand Across North America
EdenCrete’s growth is being built through physical access to ready-mix plants. Eden US completed six new EdenCrete Pz7 bulk storage and dispensing installations during the quarter, spanning Colorado, Texas and Minnesota, with two more scheduled for October. The network now covers 32 plants across the USA, Canada and Ecuador, including nine Ecuadorian sites and two pending North American installations.
The latest rollout extends work with Amrize into Texas, Minnesota and the greater Toronto area. Each installation typically generates an initial US$6,000 to US$10,000 starter order, while Eden says Ecuadorian experience suggests mature sites could eventually purchase about US$40,000 to US$80,000 a year. That is an expectation rather than contracted revenue, making the pace of repeat consumption more important than the headline installation count. The expansion comes as EdenCrete passes US$1 million in cumulative orders from Holcim Ecuador.
Debt Eliminated While Operating Cash Remains Negative
The balance sheet has also been reset. Following shareholder approval in July, Eden issued shares to settle A$1.839 million of outstanding shareholder loans and accrued director fees, completing what it describes as its move to debt-free status. The quarterly report records A$4.3 million of cash at 30 September and no third-party debt, although a residual A$56,000 related-party loan balance remains payable in cash.
That financial improvement does not yet amount to self-funding operations. Eden recorded A$892,000 of net operating cash outflow in the quarter, after A$979,000 of customer receipts and payments of A$1.059 million for staff and A$716,000 for administration and corporate costs. On the quarter’s cash usage, the Appendix 4C calculates approximately 4.8 quarters of available funding, assuming the burn rate remains unchanged.
Indian Trials Add a Commercialisation Test
In India, government-backed Central Road Research Institute testing reported improvements in abrasion resistance of up to 28%, compressive strength of up to 19% and flexural strength of up to 14%, while drying shrinkage fell by up to 25% across the two concrete grades tested. Eden says further trials are scheduled and that it intends to explore accelerated field trials for new highways and white-topping repairs, while continuing discussions with ready-mix producers in Delhi and Mumbai.
The results strengthen the technical case for EdenCrete Pz7, but the next step is commercial rather than laboratory-based: field trials, mix approvals and recurring customer orders. Eden’s stated FY27 priorities also include converting its US and Latin American OptiBlend quotations, expanding EdenCrete across the Amrize, Quikrete and Holcim networks, and securing initial EdenShield defence and critical-infrastructure engagements.
Recurring Revenue Is the Next Hurdle
Eden has supplied encouraging early indicators: stronger US sales, more plant installations, a broad quotation pipeline and a cleaner balance sheet. Yet the filing’s central tension is clear. The company remains cash-flow negative, and its targets depend on turning trials, quotations and newly installed dispensing systems into repeat revenue rather than one-off starter orders.
The next quarterly figures should show whether OptiBlend’s surge can be sustained and whether EdenCrete consumption begins to scale beyond installation-led sales. They will also reveal how much of the A$4.3 million cash balance is being consumed while management pursues that conversion.
Bottom Line?
Eden has bought itself operating room with a stronger balance sheet; the key test is whether repeat sales grow faster than cash burn.
Questions in the middle?
- How much of the OptiBlend quotation pipeline will convert into booked orders and revenue?
- Will the new EdenCrete Pz7 installations generate recurring purchases at the company’s projected mature-plant rates?
- Can Eden reduce its A$892,000 quarterly operating cash outflow before the cash runway becomes a constraint?
