Parkway’s record quarter brings its brine ambitions closer to commercial reality

Water and Wastewater Treatment By Victor Sage 4 min read

Parkway Corporate delivered record quarterly revenue of $7.71 million and $1.08 million in operating cash flow as its mine dewatering contract expanded to about $2.1 million. The company also advanced its Queensland brine project, although its next test is turning approvals and technology development into funded commercial infrastructure.

  • Record quarterly operating revenue of $7.71 million, up 114% year on year
  • $1.08 million in positive operating cash flow and $3.36 million cash at quarter end
  • Mine dewatering contract expanded to approximately $2.1 million
  • QBMC secured Development Application and Environmental Authority approvals
  • $2 million debt facility fully drawn and maturing in June 2027

Record revenue is backed by positive operating cash flow

Parkway Corporate Limited (ASX:PWN) has produced its strongest quarterly revenue result to date, with operating revenue reaching $7.71 million in the three months to 30 September 2026. That was 114% above the $3.61 million recorded in the prior corresponding quarter, while underlying EBITDA came in at $0.45 million. The company says the figures were supported by a diversified contribution across its industrial operations, rather than the ramp-up of a single new technology project.

Cash receipts from customers reached $9.10 million, translating into $1.08 million of operating cash flow. Parkway ended the period with $3.36 million in cash, before receiving a further $0.92 million research and development tax incentive reimbursement in October. The figures are based on unaudited management accounts, and EBITDA is a non-GAAP measure, so the quarter provides evidence of cash-generating activity but not yet a final measure of statutory profitability.

Mine dewatering scope grows as major project approaches completion

The quarter’s clearest commercial catalyst was the expansion of Parkway’s mine dewatering project for a global mining company to approximately $2.1 million. The scope covers the design, engineering, fabrication and supply of industrial-scale equipment capable of transferring or processing up to 5 million litres of wastewater per hour at peak capacity, including highly acidic mine pit wastewater. Parkway expects the contracted scope to be finalised in the December quarter.

The award builds on the August mine dewatering contract, which was originally valued at about $2 million and was expected to contribute revenue in the first half of FY27. Parkway is also assessing whether its proprietary process technologies could address acidic and metalliferous drainage from the same mine, but that opportunity remains under evaluation rather than being reported as contracted work.

QBMC approvals move brine project towards demonstration stage

Parkway’s Queensland Brine Solutions venture has secured the Development Application and Environmental Authority approvals needed for its Queensland Brine Management Complex, or QBMC. The approvals cover both a planned Commercial Demonstration Project and the proposed first full-scale commercial stage, allowing Parkway to continue pre-development activities while testing a broader range of industrial and municipal waste brines alongside coal seam gas-derived brine.

The QBMC demonstration project is intended to generate early revenue and engineering data for a final investment decision on Stage 1. Parkway describes Stage 1 as having indicative financial metrics of net present value above $700 million and an internal rate of return above 30%, but those figures remain project estimates rather than achieved outcomes. The company is also evaluating brownfield sites and potential strategic partnerships that could accelerate deployment of its modular brine systems, including technology developed through its Hitachi brine collaboration.

Debt and commercialisation remain the harder tests

The balance sheet is stronger than a quarter earlier, but Parkway’s funding position still deserves attention. Its $2 million Causeway loan facility was fully drawn at 30 September, carries interest at the higher of BBSW plus 8% or 11%, and matures on 17 June 2027. The company also spent $0.41 million on investing activities during the quarter, including capitalised research and development, while $0.25 million flowed out through financing activities.

Parkway is proposing a share consolidation before a planned OTCQB listing, which it says could improve access to institutional investors and deeper capital pools. That outcome is not assured, and the central question is whether operating cash flow and contracted project work can fund the path from QBMC demonstration activities to a full investment decision without putting further pressure on capital.

Bottom Line?

Parkway has established a stronger operating base, but the next value test is converting the $2.1 million mine project and QBMC approvals into repeatable cash generation and funded development.

Questions in the middle?

  • Will the expanded mine dewatering scope be finalised in the December quarter, and what margins will it deliver?
  • How much capital will the QBMC demonstration project require before Parkway can reach a full-scale investment decision?
  • Can operating cash flow, strategic partners or the proposed OTCQB listing reduce reliance on the fully drawn high-cost debt facility before its June 2027 maturity?
