42 holes and A$6.34 million reshape Resolution’s Horse Heaven quarter

Mining By Maxwell Dee 5 min read

Resolution Minerals has extended gold mineralisation across its Horse Heaven project in Idaho, including a 500-metre open-ended zone at Golden Gate North. But the quarter ended with just A$1.64 million in cash and an Appendix 5B estimate of 0.2 quarters of funding, placing the proposed debt facility and future capital sources firmly in focus.

  • 42 diamond holes completed across 12,236 metres at Horse Heaven
  • Golden Gate North zone extended over 500 metres, remaining open-ended
  • Golden Gate South returned 1 metre at 14.8 g/t gold and 12 g/t silver
  • A$1.64 million cash balance after A$6.34 million exploration spend
  • Up to A$10 million loan facility entered into after quarter end

Horse Heaven drilling expands the geological picture

Resolution Minerals Limited (ASX:RML; Nasdaq: RML) has finished a 42-hole, 12,236-metre diamond drilling campaign at Horse Heaven in Idaho, but the more immediate investor question is how quickly the results can be converted into a stronger project case before the next funding decision arrives. Assays from 36 holes were still pending at quarter end, leaving much of the programme unresolved.

The results already released extend the story in two directions. At Golden Gate South, six holes identified gold mineralisation across an approximately 600-metre-wide zone and pushed known mineralisation at least 2,000 metres south of Golden Gate North. The company’s highest gold grades at Golden Gate South included 1 metre at 14.8 grams per tonne gold and 12 grams per tonne silver within a 7.2-metre interval grading 2.35 g/t gold.

Golden Gate North delivers broad but open-ended intervals

Subsequent results from Golden Gate North, released on 26 October, reported near-surface intersections of 324 metres at 0.49 g/t gold in HH-GG26-032C and 322 metres at 0.37 g/t in HH-GG26-031C. A third hole returned 134.2 metres at 0.40 g/t. Resolution interpreted the mineralised zone as at least 500 metres long, 200 metres wide and 300 metres deep, with mineralisation open in both directions.

Those findings are consistent with the 500-metre Golden Gate North zone, which earlier coverage noted remained unresolved on true widths, economic significance and ultimate scale. The latest quarterly report also says gold-in-soil anomalies may extend the system another 500 metres north and connect the broader Golden Gate North and South areas, although those indications are not a substitute for further drilling and assay work.

Cash fell sharply as drilling expenditure peaked

Resolution spent A$6.34 million on exploration during the September quarter, alongside A$2.38 million in net operating cash outflows. Cash and equivalents fell from A$10.34 million to A$1.64 million, while the Appendix 5B calculation showed total relevant outgoings of A$8.72 million and estimated funding of just 0.2 quarters based on cash held at 30 September.

The company attributed the unusually high spending to its completed drilling programme and said exploration expenditure should fall in the next quarter. That may ease the immediate burn rate, but the quarter-end figure still makes funding execution a material part of the Horse Heaven investment case rather than a secondary corporate detail.

Debt facility offers capacity but adds cost and conditions

After quarter end, Resolution entered into a potential A$10 million loan facility managed by Oakley Capital Partners. The first A$2.5 million was to be drawn immediately, with a further A$2.5 million available at the company’s election and the remaining A$5 million subject to mutual agreement. Drawn amounts carry 12% annual interest and six-month maturities, while the proposed security package includes options and other fees. Securities issued under the facility require shareholder approval.

Resolution also pointed to A$10.8 million from the second tranche of an earlier placement and up to about A$9.3 million if approximately 518 million in-the-money options are exercised. Those figures describe potential funding sources, not cash already received. The Nasdaq listing, which began on 9 September under ticker RML with each ADS representing 200 ordinary shares, broadened US market access but did not raise capital.

Remaining assays become the next test

Near-term activity centres on processing the remaining 2026 drill results, permitting 2027 programmes at Antimony Ridge and Golden Gate, and metallurgical work including plans for existing tungsten stockpiles. The 42-hole drilling campaign established the scale of the work, but the outstanding assays will determine whether the emerging gold zones show enough continuity and grade to support the next stage of evaluation.

Bottom Line?

The geology is expanding faster than the balance sheet: the next assay batch matters, but so do loan drawdowns, shareholder approval and the timing of future funding.

Questions in the middle?

  • Will the 36 outstanding assays extend the Golden Gate system with similar continuity across gold and tungsten targets?
  • How much of the proposed A$10 million facility will be drawn, and on what timetable and terms?
  • Can reduced exploration spending preserve momentum while the company advances permitting and metallurgical testing?
