Cash runway narrows as deployment costs arrive first

InteliCare Holdings Limited (ASX:ICR) has 1.10 quarters of estimated funding available after its September quarter cash balance fell to A$1.394 million. The aged care software provider recorded an operating cash outflow of A$1.271 million, while customer receipts came in at A$408,000, sharply below the A$1.806 million collected in the June quarter.

The company says the weaker cash position reflects the timing of equipment purchases, implementation milestones and annual expenses rather than a change to its commercial rollout. Even so, the numbers leave little room for execution delays: the quarter began with A$2.728 million in cash and ended with A$1.394 million. InteliCare also had A$400,000 drawn against its estimated FY26 research and development claim, but no unused financing facilities were included in its cash runway calculation.

Hardware spending is aimed at contracted revenue

InteliCare invested approximately A$759,000 in hardware during the quarter to support upcoming deployments. The company says that inventory is expected to underpin more than A$1.2 million in revenue over coming quarters, including about A$470,000 already invoiced. It expects outstanding invoices to be paid in the December quarter as implementation and recurring SaaS fees progress.

The spending supports the rollout under the five-year mecwacare agreement, with five sites now live across 281 beds and three further sites, covering 306 beds, in planning, deployment or equipment installation. The broader mecwacare portfolio comprises approximately 1,600 beds across 22 facilities, although the timing and commercial terms for future deployments are not quantified in this update.

Hardi and Warrigal add deployment milestones

At Hardi, InteliCare is implementing Nurse Call at Blacktown and Manly Vale alongside the additional 84 beds at Blacktown. The Hardi Nurse Call expansion generates A$371,000 in fees for the initial expansion, while further deployments across Hardi’s remaining facilities represent an additional opportunity rather than contracted revenue disclosed in this filing.

Preparations are also advancing for InteliCare’s first retirement living deployment with Warrigal. Equipment has been delivered and integration is substantially complete for 65 villas, with final testing underway before residents move in. The agreement has an estimated total contract value of approximately A$200,000, including hardware, implementation and an initial three-year SaaS subscription period.

Funding depends on receipts arriving on schedule

Management said revenue is beginning to be received from mecwacare, Hardi and Warrigal and that it is evaluating available funding options as operations scale. Five customer proposals represent approximately A$500,000 of potential additional revenue, but those opportunities remain subject to customer decisions and commercial agreements. The filing does not quantify the timing of those receipts or confirm that further funding has been secured.

For now, InteliCare’s investment case turns on the conversion of installed hardware into cash and recurring SaaS revenue. The next quarterly report should show whether December-quarter collections arrive as expected, whether the deployment pipeline produces new paid sites, and whether the company’s 1.10-quarter funding position improves before another capital decision becomes necessary.

Bottom Line?

The rollout is creating visible revenue opportunities, but InteliCare must convert invoices and deployments into cash quickly to avoid renewed funding pressure.

Questions in the middle?

  • Will the approximately A$470,000 of invoiced revenue be collected during the December quarter?
  • How quickly can the mecwacare, Hardi and Warrigal deployments begin generating recurring SaaS receipts?
  • Will InteliCare need additional equity or debt funding before its cash runway is extended?
