Orthocell has recorded its strongest month of US Remplir sales since launch, with 92 units generating A$279,000 in October. The result points to improving surgeon adoption and hospital access, although one month of sales does not yet establish a durable run rate or profitability.
- 92 Remplir units sold in the US during October
- A$279,000 in monthly revenue, 84% above the Q1 FY27 average
- Growth attributed to surgeon adoption, repeat use and wider hospital access
- Orthocell is expanding manufacturing capacity for anticipated demand
October Remplir sales reach a post-launch high
Orthocell Limited (ASX:OCC) has set a new monthly US sales record for Remplir, selling 92 units in October and generating AU$279,000 in revenue. That was 84% above the average of 50 units per month recorded during the first quarter of FY27.
The company attributed the improvement to growing surgeon adoption, more repeat use, a larger base of actively selling distributor representatives and broader access to hospitals across key US markets. The filing describes October as evidence that expanded market access is beginning to convert into product utilisation and revenue.
Commercial network builds on earlier hospital expansion
The monthly result follows a period in which Remplir’s US footprint was already expanding. Orthocell’s September quarter Remplir update reported 149 US units for the quarter and adoption across 79 hospitals and 93 surgeons, according to the earlier coverage. The latest announcement does not provide a new hospital or surgeon count, but says those channels are now supporting higher utilisation.
Orthocell chief executive and managing director Paul Anderson said the groundwork established over the past 12 months was translating into tangible revenue, while the company’s focus remained on accelerating surgeon adoption, expanding hospital access and increasing product utilisation. The announcement also points to regulatory approvals in seven international jurisdictions and established manufacturing capability as foundations for further commercial growth.
Manufacturing capacity becomes the next test
Chairman John Van Der Wielen said Orthocell was continuing to expand manufacturing capacity in anticipation of increased demand. That follows the previously disclosed manufacturing expansion plan, which included a planned A$5 million to A$5.5 million investment, according to earlier coverage.
For shareholders, the central question is whether October marks the beginning of a sustained increase or simply a strong month within a still-developing launch. The announcement reports revenue and units, but not gross margin, cash receipts, profitability or the cost of supporting the expanded commercial infrastructure. Orthocell is due to continue its standard quarterly reporting, which should provide the next clearer test of whether the higher sales rate is holding.
Bottom Line?
October provides a strong commercial signal, but the next quarterly sales result will matter more than a single record month in establishing Remplir’s underlying US run rate.
Questions in the middle?
- Can Orthocell sustain sales near October’s 92-unit level across the next quarter?
- How will gross margin and cash usage develop as distributor activity and manufacturing capacity expand?
- Will wider hospital access translate into repeat Remplir use across a broader surgeon base?
