Solstice’s Nanadie drilling reveals a powerful shallow copper zone

Solstice Minerals has returned its strongest shallow copper-gold result yet at Nanadie, led by 10 metres at 9.40% copper, 2.13g/t gold and 23.4g/t silver. The result sits within a broader mineralised zone that could influence the next resource estimate, although metallurgy, continuity and true widths remain unresolved.

  • 10m at 9.40% copper, 2.13g/t gold and 23.4g/t silver from 44m
  • 41m at 2.79% copper and 0.70g/t gold in NANRC067
  • 89.1m at 0.93% copper from diamond hole NANRCD060
  • Current resource remains 40.4Mt at 0.40% copper and 0.10g/t gold
  • More than 60 holes have assays pending ahead of a 2027 resource update

Shallow Nanadie Intercept Sets the Tone

Solstice Minerals Limited (ASX:SLS) has produced an unusually strong shallow copper hit at its Nanadie project in Western Australia, with NANRC067 returning 41 metres at 2.79% copper and 0.70g/t gold from just 19 metres. Inside that interval was 10 metres at 9.40% copper, 2.13g/t gold and 23.4g/t silver from 44 metres, including individual one-metre assays of up to 17.30% copper.

The interval crosses oxide, transitional and fresh-rock material. Solstice says the transitional section may contain chalcocite, a high-tenor copper sulphide, but that interpretation still needs to be tested through mineralogical and metallurgical work. The company intends to determine whether the material could be treated through conventional sulphide flotation; no processing conclusion has yet been established.

Broad Mineralisation Extends Above the Existing Resource

The headline result is supported by a series of wide intercepts in the northern part of Nanadie. Diamond-tail hole NANRCD060 returned 89.1 metres at 0.93% copper and 0.19g/t gold from 198.9 metres, including 10.9 metres at 2.67% copper and 0.52g/t gold. NANRCD022 added 18.9 metres at 1.10% copper from 225 metres, including four metres at 3.16% copper.

That northern zone sits within and below Nanadie’s current 40.4 million-tonne Inferred Mineral Resource, which is estimated at 0.40% copper and 0.10g/t gold and contains 162,000 tonnes of copper and 130,000 ounces of gold. The latest drilling follows the earlier broad Nanadie intercepts, which included 91.4 metres at 0.97% copper and 0.42g/t gold. Solstice says the current results indicate potential for higher-grade near-surface material within the resource area, particularly along the eastern side of the host gabbro.

Resource Growth Still Depends on Definition Work

The geological story is becoming more substantial, but the commercial story remains unfinished. Intercepts are reported as downhole lengths rather than true widths, and the company has not yet published an updated resource, reserve or economic study. The current MRE is Inferred, while the continuity and geometry of the newly identified high-grade zone still need tighter drilling.

Solstice plans to increase RC drill density around NANRC067, continue diamond drilling below the existing resource and complete mineralogical and metallurgical testwork. The company reported $41 million in cash and no debt at 30 September 2026, providing funding for the stated programme, while assays remain pending from 14 diamond holes and more than 50 RC holes.

More Drilling Targets Nanadie and Stark

The multi-rig campaign will continue through the remainder of 2026 across the 1.5-kilometre Nanadie system. Deeper drilling is also planned around the NANRCD033 conductor plate, a target identified in the Nanadie DHEM survey, while shallower RC work is expected to test the nearby Stark Prospect and other targets beneath transported cover.

Solstice is targeting a Mineral Resource re-estimation in the first half of 2027. The key test is whether the spectacular transitional result proves to be a coherent, recoverable zone rather than a narrow high-grade feature inside a much broader exploration system.

Bottom Line?

The next value-bearing evidence will be less about another isolated headline hit and more about continuity, metallurgy and the shape of the 2027 resource update.

Questions in the middle?

  • Does the high-grade transitional material contain confirmed chalcocite, and how will it respond to flotation testwork?
  • Can tighter RC drilling establish enough continuity and true width to influence mine planning?
  • Will the pending assays convert Nanadie’s growing footprint into a materially larger or higher-grade resource?
