Torque’s Ritz drilling opens a new high-grade chapter at HHH

Mining By Maxwell Dee 6 min read

Torque Metals has extended high-grade mineralisation beyond the current resource at HHH, including a 1.1-metre interval grading 89.64 g/t gold. The ASX-listed explorer is now preparing to add a third rig after completing a $25 million capital raising.

  • 1.1m at 89.64 g/t gold from 308.7m at HHH, including 0.2m at 398.0 g/t
  • 4.0m at 9.74 g/t gold extends HHH mineralisation more than 80m down-plunge
  • Paris returns shallow intersections within and outside the current resource
  • Koolie delivers 2.0m at 12.17 g/t gold in first-pass regional drilling
  • Third rig planned after Torque completed a $25 million capital raising

HHH high-grade shoot extends beyond current resource

Torque Metals Limited (ASX:TOR) has produced its sharpest new evidence yet that the HHH deposit may extend beyond its existing resource envelope, with a diamond hole returning 1.1 metres at 89.64 g/t gold from 308.7 metres. The interval included 0.2 metres at 398.0 g/t, while a separate reverse-circulation hole delivered 4.0 metres at 9.74 g/t from 378 metres.

The deeper RC result sits more than 80 metres down-plunge from the previous deepest high-grade intercept at HHH, an 8.9-metre zone grading 17.50 g/t gold. Torque said the diamond result lies about 50 metres up-plunge from that earlier intercept and about 50 metres down-plunge from a prior 1.0-metre hit at 20.90 g/t, defining a high-grade mineralised shoot over more than 100 metres. The company’s current HHH resource is 73,000 ounces, based on 1.15 million tonnes at 2.0 g/t.

The results add to the run of exceptional HHH assays reported in the August HHH drilling results, but they remain exploration intersections rather than a revised resource. All reported lengths are down-hole widths, and Torque said true widths have not yet been established.

Paris and Koolie broaden the exploration case

At the 253,000-ounce Paris deposit, RC hole 26PRC295 returned 12.0 metres at 2.20 g/t gold from 47 metres, including 2.0 metres at 8.45 g/t. The interval sits within the Inferred portion of the current resource and may support further infill drilling, while hole 26PRC310 returned 1.0 metre at 8.40 g/t from 24 metres north of Paris, outside the existing resource.

Regional drilling at Koolie, in the Maynards Corridor, produced a more speculative but notable result: 2.0 metres at 12.17 g/t gold from 31 metres, including 1.0 metre at 23.27 g/t. Torque said the broader shallow mineralised envelope extends for about 250 metres and remains open along strike and at depth, although the first-pass program also returned several lower-grade intervals that require additional drilling and structural interpretation.

Funding puts more rigs behind the next targets

Torque has completed the $25 million exploration raising, and now has two rigs operating at Ritz with plans to deploy a third. The company said the additional capacity will target HHH and Observation resource growth while expanding discovery drilling across the sparsely explored Maynards and Strauss corridors.

Next steps include further RC and diamond drilling around the HHH shoot, down-hole electromagnetic surveys at HHH and Observation, and airborne or UAV-based magnetic surveys across the Paris and Strauss corridors. Those programs are intended to sharpen structural interpretations and identify targets, but the investment case still turns on whether isolated high-grade intersections can be converted into a larger, reliably modelled resource.

Bottom Line?

The assays strengthen the HHH growth story, but the next resource update must show continuity, true widths and scale rather than another standout interval.

Questions in the middle?

  • Can follow-up drilling establish a coherent high-grade HHH shoot suitable for inclusion in the next resource estimate?
  • Will the new Paris and Koolie results develop into continuous mineralised zones beyond the current resource?
  • How quickly can the funded third rig generate discovery results across the Maynards and Strauss corridors?
