Strategic Elements lands first mining contract for EdgeiQ
Strategic Elements has secured its first commercial mining contract for Stealth Technologies’ EdgeiQ OnSite platform, worth approximately A$225,000 initially. A separate EdgeiQ Portable pilot has also launched after five underground trials with a Tier 1 mining company, giving the venture two potential routes into mining operations.
- First EdgeiQ OnSite mining contract worth approximately A$225,000
- Customer is a major global gold producer, which remains unnamed
- Five underground EdgeiQ Portable trials completed with a Tier 1 miner
- Commercial Portable pilot launched but no revenue-generating contract disclosed
- Longer-term licensing, partnerships and M&A remain exploratory

First Commercial Contract Puts EdgeiQ OnSite Into Mining
Strategic Elements Ltd (ASX:SOR) has moved Stealth Technologies from technology development into commercial deployment, announcing an initial mining contract worth approximately A$225,000 for EdgeiQ OnSite. The customer is described only as a major global gold producer, and the announcement does not disclose the contract duration, margins, revenue timing or customer identity.
EdgeiQ OnSite is designed to capture and measure truck-load volumes, fill levels and carry-back at fixed sites. The presentation says the next step is to complete customer validation and pursue additional deployments, including with other Australian miners and potentially at international operations of Australian customers.
The announcement builds on EdgeiQ pilot progress, which had put the platform closer to commercial mining pilots. Strategic Elements now presents the first contract as a tangible commercial milestone, although the disclosed value is an initial contract amount rather than a forecast of recurring revenue.
Portable Platform Advances From Trials To Pilot
Stealth has also completed five underground field trials of EdgeiQ Portable with a Tier 1 mining company and launched a commercial pilot program. The handheld system is intended to capture and process three-dimensional spatial information underground without GPS, internet connectivity or cloud processing.
That pilot is not yet described as a signed, revenue-generating contract. The stated next milestone is to secure a paid Portable pilot, while Stealth continues developing Physical AI models that run on EdgeiQ Portable hardware and plans real-world field validation.
Mining First, Expansion Claims Still Unproven
Strategic Elements estimates an initial global truck-load measurement opportunity at more than A$500 million, while the presentation cites roughly 2,300 operating underground mines worldwide. Both figures are market indicators rather than revenue forecasts: the A$500 million estimate is internal, and the mine count is attributed to a GlobalData estimate.
The company is also assessing complementary technology in-licensing, strategic partnerships and possible mergers, acquisitions or joint ventures. Those options remain longer-term possibilities, subject to commercial progress, financial considerations and approvals; no transaction has been announced. For now, the more immediate test is whether the first OnSite contract converts into repeat deployments and whether Portable can turn field validation into paid work.
Bottom Line?
The A$225,000 contract is an important commercial proof point, but the investment case still depends on repeat deployments, disclosed economics and conversion of the Portable pilot into paid revenue.
Questions in the middle?
- When will Strategic Elements disclose the customer validation results, contract duration and revenue recognition profile for EdgeiQ OnSite?
- Can the EdgeiQ Portable pilot become a signed paid program, and what commercial use case will it prove?
- Will Physical AI field testing produce measurable operating benefits that support broader mining deployments?
