Lower expectations hit consumer software
hipages Group delivered stronger cash generation in FY26, with free cash flow rising 66% to A$9.4 million. However, management now expects FY27 revenue, profit and free cash flow to sit at the lower ends of its existing ranges. Consumer confidence has weakened, and fewer people are using the marketplace to connect with tradespeople. That change explains the share price fall. Arbitr Group proposed a A$4.86 million capital raising to fund cost cuts and a move into enterprise AI. The plan includes a A$3.86 million offer of new shares and a possible A$1 million placement to a company linked to a director. Shareholders who do not take part could see their ownership shrink by about 43%. Investors also have to wait for the Enterprise AI Context Engine, which is due in calendar 2026. The company is targeting A$2 million in yearly cost savings.Debt supports growth, but raises the bill
Dicker Data completed its purchase of Sektor Group, a distribution business with NZD 440 million of revenue. The deal expands Dicker Data across Australia, New Zealand and Southeast Asia. It was paid for by extending existing debt facilities. Management expects the deal to add to FY26 earnings after one-off costs, with annual profit before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation targeted at about NZD 28 million to NZD 32 million after integration. The share price still fell because investors must weigh the larger business against the new debt and the work needed to combine both companies. Locate Technologies (NZX:LOC) made two important funding decisions. It sold all 12.3 Bitcoin for A$1.37 million and will hold the money as cash. The board cited changing security risks linked to artificial intelligence and quantum computing. The company also arranged A$3 million of senior debt and a A$1 million convertible note, which is debt that may later become shares, to repay its A$4.04 million PURE facility before maturity. The refinancing removes an immediate repayment deadline, but the new loans carry interest of 10% to 11% and may reduce existing shareholders’ ownership if converted. Its share price was unchanged for the week.AI progress meets the revenue test
Pathkey.AI (ASX:PKY) reported an independent test of its Chipforge platform. The evaluator used written instructions to produce working FPGA hardware for two designs without help from Pathkey or manual code changes. FPGA hardware is a type of programmable chip used to test digital systems. This result supports the company’s technical claims, but its own benchmark comparisons used different testing methods. The next test is commercial: Chipforge has entered pre-production work and has a first proof-of-value project, while the company held A$5.8 million in cash at 30 September 2026. Its share price was unchanged. Monvia (ASX:MNV) delivered FY26 adjusted revenue of A$27.7 million and adjusted EBITDA of A$6.9 million, both slightly ahead of its IPO forecasts. Its ARR, meaning recurring annual subscription revenue, rose 21% to A$14 million. The enterprise sales pipeline grew 3.5 times, but management expects total FY27 revenue to remain flat as professional services revenue falls. That mix of stronger subscriptions and weaker near-term total revenue left the share price unchanged.Cash remains central to smaller technology names
Nodestream (ASX:NS1) completed a A$6.5 million placement and launched Missions commercially on 24 October. The company is pursuing defence work in the United States, Europe and Ukraine. Yet September-quarter revenue fell to A$496,000, and auditors warned that there is significant uncertainty about whether the business can continue without further support. The new cash lifted the balance to A$2.765 million, but investors still need evidence that defence contracts will become revenue. The share price was unchanged. For technology investors, the week showed that product claims alone are not enough. Companies must also protect cash, control debt and show that customers will pay. Stronger subscription revenue at Monvia and independent testing at Pathkey.AI provide progress. hipages, Arbitr and Nodestream show the cost when demand, ownership or cash concerns move in the other direction. This Week's Sector Wraps

Bottom Line?
The next evidence will come from Arbitr Group’s capital raising and its planned calendar 2026 Enterprise AI Context Engine, Pathkey.AI’s commercial work before Chipforge Studio is targeted for Q3 FY2027, and the integration of Sektor into Dicker Data. Investors will also watch whether hipages can hold its targets, whether Locate’s refinancing reduces repayment pressure, and whether Nodestream converts defence opportunities into sales.
Questions in the middle?
- Will Arbitr Group’s proposed capital raising deliver the planned A$2 million in yearly savings without weakening investor support?
- Can Pathkey.AI turn independent Chipforge testing and its first proof-of-value project into recurring customer revenue before its A$5.8 million cash balance falls too far?
- Will Dicker Data’s Sektor acquisition produce the targeted NZD 28 million to NZD 32 million in annual profit before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation after integration?
