Strategic Team Expansion

Encounter Resources (ASX – ENR) has taken a decisive step forward in developing its Aileron niobium and rare earth elements (REE) project in Western Australia’s West Arunta region by announcing three key appointments. These hires bring a wealth of experience across corporate development, global niobium marketing, and metallurgical expertise, signaling the company’s commitment to advancing the project beyond exploration.

General Manager – Corporate Development Jardee Kininmonth joins with a strong background in mining engineering, finance, and corporate strategy, having played pivotal roles at Allkem, EMR Capital, and Future Metals. His experience in resource upgrades and marketing will be instrumental in navigating the next phase of Aileron’s growth.

Industry-Leading Expertise

Marketing Advisor Pablo Salazar brings over 15 years of international niobium industry experience, including senior roles at CBMM, the world’s largest niobium producer. His expertise in driving adoption of niobium in emerging technologies such as batteries and superalloys positions Encounter well to refine its product strategy and engage potential offtake partners.

Metallurgy Advisor Enej Catovic adds more than 25 years of technical leadership in chemical processing and rare earths, with senior roles at Lynas and Northern Minerals. His oversight of metallurgical test work, currently underway with SGS Lakefield in Canada, will be critical to optimizing processing flowsheets and de-risking project studies.

Advancing Project Development

The Aileron Project boasts a JORC-compliant inferred resource of 19.2 million tonnes at 1.74% niobium pentoxide (Nb2O5), positioning it as a globally significant critical minerals asset. Encounter’s expanded team is focused on unlocking value through ongoing exploration, metallurgical testing, and targeted market engagement with industry participants to build awareness and progress partnership discussions.

Executive Chairman Will Robinson highlighted that these appointments mark a new phase of growth, aimed at accelerating value enhancement and reducing risks associated with study activities. The company’s strategy leverages its dominant footprint in the emerging West Arunta province, a frontier for critical mineral exploration.

Looking Ahead

While the company has not disclosed detailed timelines or financial commitments related to these developments, the strengthened leadership team and progressing technical work suggest a focused push towards project maturation. Investors will be watching closely for results from metallurgical programs and the outcomes of market engagement efforts that could pave the way for strategic partnerships or offtake agreements.

Bottom Line?

Encounter’s strategic hires and advancing test work set the stage for unlocking Aileron’s critical minerals potential.
