Encounter Resources has launched a strategic review of its copper assets across Western Australia and the Northern Territory, aiming to accelerate project development amid promising drilling results at its Yeneena Copper Project and other key sites.

Small-cap resources stocks led the week, while takeover activity and strong company results added to the gains. Wellnex Life more than doubled, but sharp falls in Trek Metals and Ionic Rare Earths showed that positive news did not always bring buyers.

Materials shares delivered another strong week, led by a 60.61% rise at iTech Minerals and major gains across gold, copper and critical minerals.
Investors rewarded fresh drilling results, larger mineral resources, project approvals and new supply agreements, although several heavily sold stocks showed that early buying did not always last.

Encounter Resources has significantly extended the shallow, high-grade niobium mineralisation at its Emily deposit and confirmed thick, high-grade zones at Green within the Aileron Project. A 70,000m drilling campaign is underway, underpinning resource growth and development plans.

Small-cap materials stocks swung hard as fresh funding, mine build decisions and standout drill hits drove the week’s biggest moves. Gold, lithium, rare earths and tungsten names all drew buying, while a few raisings and weak follow-through after trading halts kept losses sharp.
