Aurum Resources reports exceptional high-grade gold intercepts at its Boundiali Gold Project in Côte d'Ivoire, underpinning an aggressive 100,000m drilling campaign and a Pre-Feasibility Study due by year-end.

  • 1.43m at 234.35 g/t gold intercept at Boundiali BMT3 deposit
  • 100,000m diamond drilling program underway targeting resource growth
  • Two Mineral Resource Estimate updates planned in 2025
  • Pre-Feasibility Study for Boundiali Gold Project expected by year-end
  • Concurrent 30,000m drilling program at Napié Gold Project to expand 0.87Moz resource

Exceptional Drill Results Highlight Boundiali Potential

Aurum Resources Limited (ASX, AUE) has unveiled a series of impressive high-grade gold intercepts from its ongoing diamond drilling program at the Boundiali Gold Project in Côte d'Ivoire. The standout result includes a remarkable 1.43 metres grading 234.35 grams per tonne (g/t) gold within a broader 4.20 metres at 80.64 g/t from 107 metres depth at the BM Target 3 (BMT3) deposit. These results reinforce the project's emerging potential and the continuity of mineralisation along strike and at depth.

The drilling campaign, comprising 23 holes totaling 5,728.9 metres at BMT3, is part of a much larger 100,000-metre diamond drilling program planned for 2025. Aurum operates eight self-owned diamond rigs, enabling cost-effective and accelerated exploration. The company aims to significantly grow the current 1.59 million ounce (Moz) Boundiali Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) through two updates scheduled for later this year.

Strategic Resource Growth and Project Advancement

Managing Director Dr. Caigen Wang expressed optimism about the drilling results, noting the extension of mineralisation limits and the reduction of line spacing to 100 metres along strike. The first MRE update, expected imminently, will incorporate these high-grade intercepts, while a second update planned for late 2025 will include results from multiple deposits and untested anomalies.

Alongside exploration, Aurum is progressing a Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) for Boundiali, targeting completion by the end of the calendar year. This study will evaluate the project's economic and technical viability, marking a critical step toward potential development.

Parallel Expansion at Napié and Strong Financial Position

Complementing the Boundiali efforts, Aurum has initiated a 30,000-metre diamond drilling program at the Napié Gold Project, aiming to expand its existing 0.87Moz resource. An updated MRE for Napié is also anticipated by year-end, further bolstering Aurum's combined resource base to approximately 2.5Moz across both projects.

Financially, Aurum is well-positioned with approximately A$46.9 million in cash and Montage shares, supporting its aggressive exploration and development agenda. The company's ownership of multiple drill rigs provides a competitive edge in operational efficiency and exploration speed.

Regional Context and Future Outlook

Boundiali is strategically located within a prolific gold belt in West Africa, near established mines such as Resolute’s Syama and Barrick’s Tongon. Aurum’s extensive landholding and JV arrangements provide a strong platform for resource growth and potential future production. The company’s methodical approach to exploration, combined with high-grade drill results, positions it well for value creation in 2025 and beyond.

With mineralisation remaining open and exploration ongoing, Aurum’s next chapters will be closely watched by investors seeking exposure to high-quality gold assets in a favourable jurisdiction.

Bottom Line?

Aurum’s 2025 drilling and study milestones set the stage for a pivotal year in advancing its West African gold projects.

Questions in the middle?

  • How will the upcoming Mineral Resource Estimate updates impact Aurum’s valuation and project economics?
  • What are the key risks and timelines associated with the Boundiali Pre-Feasibility Study completion?
  • Can Aurum sustain its drilling momentum and convert exploration success into a viable mining operation?
