Kamperman Drilling Yields 14m at 6.79g/t Au; Theia Shows Visible Gold in Multiple Holes
Astral Resources reports strong high-grade gold assay results from recent drilling at its Feysville and Mandilla projects in Western Australia, highlighting significant extensions beyond current resource models and advancing development prospects.
- Multiple high-grade gold intercepts at Kamperman deposit extend known mineralisation
- Diamond drilling at Theia confirms narrow, high-grade shear zones with visible gold
- Mining licence granted for Feysville, enabling progress towards mine development
- Consolidated mineral resources total 1.76 million ounces with ore reserves of 1.08 million ounces
- Aggressive exploration continues with three drill rigs active across projects
Strong Drilling Results at Kamperman
Astral Resources has announced compelling assay results from a 17-hole reverse circulation drilling program at the Kamperman deposit, part of its 100%-owned Feysville Gold Project near Kalgoorlie, Western Australia. The program, designed to both expand the mineral resource and enhance geological understanding, returned multiple significant high-grade intercepts. Notably, hole FRC463 intersected 14 metres at 6.79 grams per tonne gold from 192 metres, including 2 metres at an exceptional 23.8 grams per tonne, well beyond the current resource boundary.
These results confirm the presence of a north-west striking high-grade gold zone not previously included in the resource model, suggesting potential for resource growth. Other holes, such as FRC457, delivered 13 metres at 6.60 grams per tonne including a standout 1 metre at 57.6 grams per tonne, reinforcing the deposit’s high-grade nature.
Theia Deposit – High-Grade Shear Zones and Visible Gold
At the Mandilla Gold Project, approximately 70 kilometres south of Kalgoorlie, diamond drilling at the cornerstone Theia deposit has confirmed multiple high-grade intercepts within narrow shear zones. A three-hole diamond drill program targeting the so-called “230 Shear” structure intersected consistent mineralisation, including 1.57 metres at 22.8 grams per tonne and 0.6 metres at 59.2 grams per tonne gold. Visible gold was logged in all four holes of a separate four-hole program testing a potential sub-parallel mineralised structure east of Theia, with an outstanding intercept of 4.15 metres at 33.2 grams per tonne gold, including 0.5 metres at a remarkable 269.6 grams per tonne.
These findings highlight the complexity and richness of the Theia deposit, with potential for additional sub-parallel mineralised zones that could materially increase the deposit size.
Progress on Development and Exploration
Adding to the positive exploration news, Astral Resources has received formal grant of its Mining Licence application over areas of Feysville, a critical milestone enabling advancement towards mine development. The company is progressing a joint venture agreement with Mineral Mining Services for the development of the Think Big Gold Mine, which could provide early revenue streams amid record gold prices.
Supported by a recent successful capital raise, Astral is maintaining an aggressive exploration program with three drill rigs currently active across its projects, including resource definition and sterilisation drilling at Spargoville and Mandilla. The company is also preparing for further drilling to delineate sub-parallel structures at Theia in the first half of 2026.
Consolidated Resources and Outlook
Astral’s consolidated Mineral Resource Estimate now stands at approximately 50 million tonnes grading 1.1 grams per tonne gold for 1.76 million ounces, with Ore Reserves of 36.6 million tonnes at 0.9 grams per tonne for 1.08 million ounces. These robust figures underpin the company’s development plans and highlight the significant scale of its Western Australian gold portfolio.
Managing Director Marc Ducler emphasised the success of the recent drilling in extending high-grade zones and the company’s readiness to advance towards a Final Investment Decision for Mandilla, while maintaining a strong equity position for project development.
Bottom Line?
Astral Resources’ latest drilling success and mining licence grant set the stage for a pivotal year of exploration and development in Western Australia.
Questions in the middle?
- How will the new high-grade zones at Kamperman impact the upcoming resource update and mine plan?
- What are the timelines and terms expected for the joint venture agreement with Mineral Mining Services?
- To what extent could the sub-parallel structures at Theia increase the overall resource and project economics?
