Vadrians Expansion Raises Questions on Resource Scale and Continuity

Mining By Maxwell Dee 3 min read

Caprice Resources has confirmed significant extensions to high-grade gold mineralisation at its Vadrians system within the Island Gold Project, expanding the strike length to over 1,000 metres and depth to 400 metres. New discoveries and ongoing drilling signal strong growth potential in Western Australia's Murchison goldfields.

  • Vadrians gold system extended over 1,000m strike and 400m depth
  • High-grade gold intersections including 9m at 7.3 g/t Au
  • New adjacent high-grade quartz reef discovered in Vadrians footwall
  • Phase 4 drilling complete; assays pending for multiple holes
  • Follow-up drilling planned targeting northern and depth extensions

Significant Growth at Vadrians

Caprice Resources Ltd (ASX – CRS) has delivered another promising update from its Island Gold Project in Western Australia's prolific Murchison goldfields. The latest drilling results confirm that the Vadrians gold system now extends over 1,000 metres along strike and to a depth of at least 400 metres, with high-grade mineralisation continuing to emerge.

Notably, reverse circulation drilling hole 25IGRC091 intersected 9 metres at 7.3 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 148 metres downhole, marking a substantial northern extension of the high-grade lode. This adds to a growing core of mineralisation that consistently exceeds 50 gram-metres, underscoring the potential scale of the discovery.

New Targets and Ongoing Exploration

Alongside the extensions at Vadrians, Caprice has identified a new high-grade quartz reef in the footwall of the system, opening an additional target for future growth. The Phase 4 drilling campaign has now concluded, with assays still awaited for five diamond drill holes and approximately 160 air core holes. These pending results are expected to provide further clarity on the continuity and grade of mineralisation across the broader project area.

The air core drilling has been strategically deployed across a 5-kilometre strike horizon to delineate new targets, which will be rapidly followed up with reverse circulation drilling. Caprice plans to commence follow-up drilling this month, focusing on northern strike extensions and deeper zones within Vadrians, aiming to build on the current momentum.

Broader Exploration Strategy

Beyond Island Gold, Caprice is advancing exploration at its Comet Gold Project, where systematic field mapping and sampling are underway to identify high-quality drill targets near the historical Comet Gold Mine. Additionally, at the Chobe Project in the West Arunta region, aeromagnetic surveys have been completed, and ground gravity surveys are planned to refine drill targets in this emerging mineral province.

Managing Director Luke Cox highlighted the company’s transition into a sustained period of results-driven activity, with multiple assay batches expected through the first quarter of 2026. He emphasised the exciting opportunity to deliver new gold discoveries alongside the core growth at Island Gold.

Outlook and Market Context

Caprice’s expanding footprint of high-grade gold mineralisation within a well-established mining district positions the company as a notable player in Western Australia’s exploration landscape. The proximity of the Island Gold Project to existing mining and processing hubs enhances the potential for future development. While true widths of mineralisation remain to be confirmed, the consistent high-grade intersections and open-ended strike and depth extensions provide a compelling case for advancing towards a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate.

Bottom Line?

Caprice Resources is poised for a pivotal phase as assay results and follow-up drilling could unlock further high-grade gold potential at Vadrians and beyond.

Questions in the middle?

  • What will the pending assay results reveal about the continuity and grade of mineralisation?
  • How might the new quartz reef discovery impact the overall resource potential at Vadrians?
  • What timelines and targets will Caprice set for its maiden Mineral Resource Estimate?
