Forrestania Resources Reports Multiple High-Grade Gold Intercepts Across WA Projects
Forrestania Resources has reported a series of high-grade gold intercepts from drilling at British Hill, Mt Palmer, and Johnson Range projects in Western Australia, underscoring its methodical exploration approach and potential resource growth.
- High-grade gold intercepts at British Hill, Mt Palmer, and Johnson Range
- British Hill drilling returned up to 9m at 2.60 g/t Au including 1m at 11.97 g/t Au
- Mt Palmer program included 6m at 7.60 g/t Au with 1m at 19.67 g/t Au
- Johnson Range showed 7m at 11.63 g/t Au including 4m at 19.73 g/t Au
- Ongoing assays pending and drilling continues at Lady Lila and Gibraltar projects
Multiple Projects Deliver Encouraging High-Grade Gold Intercepts
Forrestania Resources Limited (ASX:FRS) has unveiled promising drilling results from three of its Western Australian gold projects; British Hill, Mt Palmer, and Johnson Range. The company’s recent campaigns have returned several high-grade gold intercepts, reinforcing its strategy of systematic, continuous exploration across its portfolio.
At British Hill, the latest drill program comprised 10 holes totaling 2,906 metres, combining reverse circulation (RC) and diamond tails. Among the standouts was a 9-metre intercept grading 2.60 grams per tonne (g/t) gold from 78 metres, including a high-grade 1 metre at 11.97 g/t from 86 metres. Additional significant zones included 4 metres at 2.24 g/t and 2 metres at 5.82 g/t gold, all from the same hole (26BHRC009). These results build on earlier drilling that confirmed extensions of high-grade mineralisation at British Hill, a project situated on granted mining leases and close to Forrestania’s Lake Johnston processing facility. This proximity is a strategic advantage as the company moves towards resource development, following its recent initiation of ore haulage to Lake Johnston as part of plant commissioning efforts ore haulage to Lake Johnston.
Mt Palmer and Johnson Range Show High-Grade Potential with Assays Pending
Forrestania’s Mt Palmer project saw 36 RC holes drilled for 2,392 metres, with early assay highlights including a 6-metre intercept at 7.60 g/t gold from just 3 metres depth. This interval notably contained a 1 metre section grading 19.67 g/t and another at 10.77 g/t, indicating near-surface high-grade mineralisation. Other notable intercepts included 5 metres at 2.37 g/t and 7 metres at 2.62 g/t gold. The project, acquired via the recent takeover of Kula Gold Limited, lies approximately 15 kilometres east of Marvel Loch and benefits from good road access.
Johnson Range, located about 170 kilometres north of Southern Cross, completed a 48-hole RC program totaling 4,344 metres. The drilling revealed a 7-metre intercept at 11.63 g/t gold from 17 metres, including an impressive 4 metres at 19.73 g/t. Deeper mineralisation was also encountered, such as 7 metres at 6.79 g/t from 135 metres, with individual metres hitting up to 18.86 g/t. These results come from granted tenements owned by a Forrestania subsidiary following a recent acquisition from Newcam Minerals.
While full assay results for Mt Palmer and Johnson Range are still pending, the initial data suggests these projects hold significant potential to expand Forrestania’s resource base. The company is concurrently drilling at its Lady Lila and Gibraltar gold projects, maintaining exploration momentum across its portfolio.
Systematic Exploration Strategy Underpins Resource Growth Ambitions
Chairman David Geraghty emphasised the efficiency of Forrestania’s approach, highlighting the benefits of smaller, continuous drill programs that keep costs manageable while steadily advancing geological understanding. “These encouraging results are improving our understanding of the geology and metallurgy across each project and support the next phase of drilling, as we move with intent to increase the size and potential of the British Hill, Johnson Range and Mt Palmer Mineral Resource Estimates,” he said.
All three projects are on granted mining leases, with British Hill and Mt Palmer in close proximity to the Lake Johnston processing plant, positioning Forrestania well for potential development. The company’s focus on converting inferred resources into indicated categories through infill drilling and securing milling options is a clear sign of advancing project maturity.
Given the pending assay results and ongoing drilling at other projects, Forrestania’s exploration story remains dynamic. The company’s recent high-grade extensions at British Hill provide a solid foundation for these ambitions, but the full impact of the new data across its broader portfolio will unfold over the coming months.
Bottom Line?
Forrestania’s steady flow of high-grade intercepts across multiple projects signals growing resource potential, but pending assays and true width confirmations will be key to defining their commercial viability.
Questions in the middle?
- How will the pending assay results from Mt Palmer and Johnson Range influence Forrestania’s upcoming resource estimates?
- What are the next steps Forrestania plans to take to convert these high-grade intercepts into mineable resources?
- How might Forrestania’s proximity to the Lake Johnston processing facility shape its development timeline and capital requirements?
