Encounter Resources Limited (ASX:ENR) has commenced a 3,500-metre reverse-circulation (RC) and diamond drilling program at its Yeneena Copper Project in Western Australia's Paterson Province. The two-rig operation is focused on testing extensions of high-grade copper mineralisation along the +8-kilometre Parbo copper system, which hosts copper oxide mineralisation and a notable inferred resource at Tyrell.
The Parbo system's previous drilling, largely conducted by Chilean major Antofagasta between 2012 and 2016, was broad spaced but yielded several significant copper intersections, including 5.3 metres at 2.5% copper and shorter intervals exceeding 10% copper. Encounter's current program aims to follow up on these open-ended high-grade zones with more targeted drilling.
Focused Targets Within the Parbo Copper System

Alongside Parbo, Encounter is completing a diamond drill hole at the Haddon prospect, located 25 kilometres northeast of Parbo. Haddon drilling in 2025 revealed extensive copper anomalism with a silver-rich core. The diamond hole aims to test a black shale horizon analogous to those hosting significant regional deposits, although field conditions had previously prevented completion.

Encounter currently operates four rigs across two premier Western Australian provinces, with two rigs active at Yeneena and two at its Aileron niobium project in the West Arunta region. The Aileron project recently saw a substantial increase in its inferred niobium resource, reflecting the company's dual focus on copper and critical minerals.
Executive Chairman Will Robinson highlighted the evolving copper market and the proven prospectivity of the Paterson Province since prior drilling campaigns.
