Deep Intrusive Targets to Unlock New Mineralisation

Javelin Minerals (ASX:JAV) is gearing up for a pivotal exploration push at its Coogee Gold Project in Western Australia, focusing on two large, undrilled magnetic anomalies at Coogee North and Coogee West. These targets are interpreted as potential magmatic intrusions associated with gold-copper mineralisation, and the company has secured co-funding from the WA Government’s Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS) to undertake diamond drilling in the third quarter of 2026.

The Coogee Gold Project already hosts a JORC Mineral Resource Estimate of 3.6 million tonnes at 1.08g/t gold for 127,000 ounces and 1 million tonnes at 0.41% copper for 4,122 tonnes. However, the upcoming drilling aims to test deeper geophysical anomalies that have so far eluded direct drill testing, representing a significant exploration opportunity beneath and adjacent to the known resource.

Coogee North: Untested Magnetic Anomaly Below Known Mineralisation

At Coogee North, historic reverse circulation (RC) and aircore drilling has delineated high-grade gold and copper mineralisation along strike from the historic open pit, including standout intersections such as 5m at 14.22g/t gold and 4m at 1.91% copper from 143m depth. Yet, modelling of magnetic data reveals a substantial anomaly approximately 700 metres below surface that remains untested by drilling.

This anomaly coincides with an epidote-siderite-magnetite alteration zone, consistent with skarn-style mineralisation linked to magmatic intrusions. Javelin plans a deep diamond hole of around 800 metres to directly test this target, which could provide critical insights into the structural and lithological framework driving mineralisation at depth.

Coogee West: Buried Gold Anomaly Hidden Beneath Lake Lefroy Sediments

The Coogee West target features a similar magnetic signature to Coogee North but is obscured by transported sediments from Lake Lefroy, which have hampered surface geochemical sampling. Historic shallow aircore drilling, however, has identified a broad gold anomalous zone extending roughly 900 by 500 metres in bedrock, with assays up to 1.38g/t gold at the bottom of holes.

Geophysical modelling suggests a potential intrusive body lies between 450 and 600 metres below surface. Javelin intends to drill a deep diamond hole to about 1,000 metres to test this feature, also co-funded by the EIS grant, aiming to unlock new mineralised systems previously concealed by surface cover.

Follow-Up RC and Aircore Drilling to Extend High-Grade Zones

Beyond these deep targets, Javelin is preparing RC and aircore drilling programs for the latter half of 2026, pending heritage clearance. These will focus on extensions of high-grade gold and copper shoots identified in the December 2024 RC campaign at Coogee North, which included notable intersections such as 7m at 6.42g/t gold and 7m at 2.54% copper.

The aircore drilling will target magnetic anomalies west of the main Coogee corridor, where historic shallow drilling has returned lower tenor but consistent gold mineralisation, including intervals of 23m at 0.38g/t gold. This systematic coverage aims to identify further mineralised zones associated with magnetic alteration assemblages.

Project Footprint Expanded with New Tenement Options

Javelin has also secured options to acquire two new tenements contiguous with the existing Coogee leases, effectively doubling the prospective greenstone area to over 63 square kilometres. The largest, E15/1920, covers the southern extension of the structural corridor hosting the CG-08 exploration target, a priority gold target with limited recent exploration.

Geophysical consultants Core Geophysics have integrated historic magnetic and gravity data across the expanded tenure, refining target interpretations and setting the stage for future exploration. This expanded footprint enhances Javelin’s ability to test regional structural controls on mineralisation within the Kalgoorlie Terrane of the Eastern Goldfields Province.
