Hastings Gold Trend Extends Beyond Kingwest
Cazaly Resources Limited (ASX:CAZ) has extended the known Hastings gold trend by more than 400 metres south of the historic Kingwest intercept, giving the company a clearer target for deeper drilling at its 51%-owned Goongarrie Gold Project in Western Australia.
First-pass aircore drilling returned a standout shallow intercept of 7 metres at 1.2g/t gold from 58 metres in hole GGAC0353. Other results included 4 metres at 0.94g/t from 56 metres, 8 metres at 0.83g/t from 56 metres and a 1-metre result grading 2.7g/t from 58 metres. The results came from 50 aircore holes covering 3,512 metres completed in July.
RC Drilling to Test Fresh Rock at Hastings
The aircore program primarily traced mineralisation through the weathered profile. Cazaly now plans about 2,500 metres of reverse circulation drilling to test whether the structure continues into fresh rock and down-plunge below the shallow intersections.
That next phase matters because the new Hastings results remain exploration intercepts rather than a resource estimate. The company’s comparison point is the historic Kingwest hole KGA0038, which returned 38 metres at 3.1g/t gold; the planned RC campaign is intended to establish continuity, depth and the geometry of the mineralised structure.
Gulls Blow Brings Historical High Grades Back Into Focus
Cazaly is also preparing an initial RC test at Gulls Blow, a prospect along the Bardoc Tectonic Zone near the historic New Boddington and Frank’s Dam workings. The company plans four to six holes to about 150 metres, totalling roughly 800 metres, with a field visit scheduled to finalise drill collars across the hilly terrain.
The target is supported by historical drilling from 1986, including a tabled result of 8 metres at 1.5g/t gold from 14 metres and a separate 6-metre interval at 4.9g/t from 38 metres, including 2 metres at 10.8g/t. A further hole returned 20 metres at 1.2g/t. These results have not been verified under the JORC Code, so the upcoming drilling is as much a validation exercise as an extension program.
Cazaly also cites historical reserve figures for the nearby New Boddington and Frank’s Dam workings, but those estimates are not JORC-compliant Mineral Resources or Ore Reserves and should not be relied upon. The immediate investment question is narrower: whether modern drilling can reproduce the Gulls Blow grades and show enough continuity to justify a larger campaign, while Hastings moves from shallow aircore evidence to a more meaningful fresh-rock test.
