Encounter Extends Green’s High-Grade Niobium Story Beyond the Resource
Encounter Resources has reported its highest-grade niobium intersection yet at the Green Deposit, with drilling extending beyond the existing resource boundary. The result strengthens the case for further resource growth, but follow-up drilling is needed to establish continuity and true widths.

Record Green Intersection Extends Beyond Resource
Encounter Resources Limited (ASX:ENR) has struck its strongest niobium interval to date at the Green Deposit in Western Australia’s Aileron Project, returning 51 metres at 5.0% Nb₂O₅ from 63 metres. The intersection includes 6 metres at 9.1% and 13 metres at 10.4% Nb₂O₅.
The more consequential detail is where the hole ended up: EAL1513 sits outside Green’s existing Inferred Mineral Resource Estimate boundary. Encounter said the grade is materially above the current resource average, pointing to potential growth in both the size and quality of the deposit rather than simply adding another result within a known envelope.
Green Resource Offers Room for Grade Growth
Green currently contains an Inferred resource of 19 million tonnes at 1.6% Nb₂O₅ above a 1.0% cut-off, within a broader 100Mt estimate grading 0.71% Nb₂O₅ above a 0.25% cut-off. The deposit extends for roughly 4 kilometres, while the existing drilling pattern remains relatively broad at 200-metre-spaced lines and 40 to 80 metres between holes.
That spacing is the reason the result matters, but also why it should not yet be treated as a revised resource. Encounter is using the 2026 programme to tighten confidence and identify potential high-grade starter-pit areas. Earlier Green drilling reported intervals including 53m at 2.9%, 75m at 2.4% and 72m at 2.0% Nb₂O₅, providing a wider set of results against which EAL1513 can be assessed.
Follow-Up Drilling Will Test Continuity
Encounter plans more infill and extensional drilling around EAL1513 to determine how far the high-grade zone continues. The company says the intersection is the highest-grade result from Green and represents a high-grade northern extension of known mineralisation.
There are important qualifications beneath the headline numbers. The reported intervals are downhole lengths, not true widths, and the geometry of the mineralisation is not yet established. EAL1513 was drilled using aircore, so additional drilling will be needed to demonstrate continuity, define the shape of the zone and assess how it should be treated in any future resource estimate.
Three Rigs Maintain Aileron Results Pipeline
Three rigs are operating across Aileron. The first diamond hole at Emily has been completed to 140 metres to test the depth extent of high-grade niobium identified in earlier aircore drilling, with results expected in October 2026. Further aircore results from Joyce are also due in October, while regional drilling across priority targets is expected to produce an update in November.
Managing Director Will Robinson said the company had expected closer-spaced drilling to reveal “spectacular zones of high-grade mineralisation” and said the results supported its confidence in potential high-grade starter pits. That remains a company view rather than a development outcome: Green still requires further drilling, resource work, metallurgical testing and project studies before the economic significance of the new zone can be established.
