Wildcat’s A$76M Cash Balance Opens the Next Tabba Tabba Chapter
Wildcat Resources ended September with A$76.1 million in cash after completing the first tranche of a A$60 million placement, giving it room to push Tabba Tabba towards its definitive feasibility study. Drilling also continued to expand Bolt Cutter Central ahead of a maiden resource targeted for Q4 2026.
- A$56 million first placement tranche completed, with a further A$4 million subject to shareholder approval
- Tabba Tabba DFS remains targeted for completion in calendar 2026
- Bolt Cutter Central mineralised footprint confirmed over 2.3km by 0.8km

A$76.1 Million Cash Balance Supports Development Push
Wildcat Resources Limited (ASX:WC8) has emerged from the September quarter with a materially stronger funding position, reporting A$76.1 million in cash after receiving A$56 million from the first tranche of its A$60 million institutional placement. The capital is intended to accelerate early development work at the Tabba Tabba lithium project, while also funding exploration and resource work at Bolt Cutter Central.
The placement comprised approximately 196.7 million new shares at A$0.305 each. The company issued 183.6 million shares under existing placement capacity, while the remaining 13.1 million shares require shareholder approval at a meeting expected in November. Wildcat incurred A$2.9 million in placement costs, leaving the completed tranche with net proceeds of roughly A$53.1 million.
Tabba Tabba DFS Moves Towards Calendar 2026 Completion
At Tabba Tabba, the definitive feasibility study continued towards completion in calendar 2026, supported by metallurgical and infill drilling across the Hutt, Chewy and Leia pegmatites. Reported results included 25.1 metres at 1.2% Li₂O from 56.5 metres at Hutt, 13.9 metres at 2.0% Li₂O from 45.2 metres at Chewy and 18 metres at 1.3% Li₂O from 69 metres at Leia.
The company said the drilling is improving confidence in the geometry and continuity of shallower portions of the existing mineral resource and is supplying further geological and metallurgical information for the DFS. Planned spending also reaches beyond study work, with proceeds earmarked for plant front-end engineering and design, roads, village development, site establishment and potential long-lead procurement.
Wildcat’s funding position follows its A$60 million placement, previously described as supporting the Tabba Tabba DFS and construction readiness. The latest report makes clear that the project remains in the study, approvals and early-works phase: environmental assessment is continuing under Western Australian and Commonwealth legislation, and project financing and offtake discussions remain ongoing.
Expanded Tabba Tabba Tenure Opens New Exploration Ground
Wildcat also secured the pegmatite rights and related royalties over E45/2364, adding approximately 7 kilometres of prospective Tabba Tabba Shear immediately adjacent to the existing project. The company says the ground includes a continuation of the Millindinna mafic intrusion, viewed as a prospective host unit, while historical drilling was largely aimed at gold and base metals rather than deeper lithium-caesium-tantalum pegmatites.
First-pass drilling and surface sampling are now well advanced across the expanded tenure, although assay results remain pending. The acquisition gives Wildcat more flexibility over the eventual project footprint, but it also adds another layer of exploration work around a development asset whose DFS and approvals are not yet complete.
Bolt Cutter Central Heads Towards Maiden Resource
About 10 kilometres west of Tabba Tabba, drilling at Bolt Cutter Central confirmed a mineralised footprint of approximately 2.3 kilometres by 0.8 kilometres across the Harry-Hermione pegmatite system, with mineralisation still open in multiple directions. Intersections included 16 metres at 1.5% Li₂O from 116 metres and 18 metres at 1.1% Li₂O from 16 metres, alongside additional down-dip results that the company said reinforced the system’s stacked and vertically continuous character.
The resource drilling phase is complete and all assays from that phase have been received, allowing modelling to proceed towards a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate targeted for Q4 2026. Additional pegmatites outside the main system produced results including 2 metres at 2.0% Li₂O and a mineralised extension roughly 300 metres along strike on adjacent E45/5416, while assays from other regional programs remain outstanding.
Cash Runway Sets Up a Dense Catalyst Calendar
Quarterly cash outflows included A$5.5 million for the E45/2364 rights and royalties, A$2.8 million on exploration and evaluation, and A$5.1 million on project studies, approvals, community engagement and administration. On the Appendix 5B calculation, Wildcat reported approximately 23 quarters of funding based on its A$76.1 million cash balance and the quarter’s relevant operating and exploration outgoings. That is a mechanical runway estimate, not a projection of the cost of building Tabba Tabba.
The next test is execution. Wildcat plans to advance the DFS, early works, environmental approvals and Bolt Cutter resource evaluation during the December quarter, with the November shareholder vote and the Q4 maiden resource standing between the company’s new funding base and its next set of measurable milestones.
Bottom Line?
Wildcat now has the liquidity to pursue several catalysts at once, but the investment case still hinges on a completed Tabba Tabba DFS, approvals, financing and the quality of Bolt Cutter Central’s maiden resource.
Questions in the middle?
- Will the Tabba Tabba DFS preserve the project’s previously stated development case once updated drilling, metallurgy and study assumptions are incorporated?
- Will shareholders approve the second placement tranche and how quickly will the resulting funds be deployed into early works?
- What scale, grade and confidence category will emerge from Bolt Cutter Central’s maiden Mineral Resource Estimate in Q4 2026?
