Three resources contracts add approximately $150 million

Monadelphous Group Limited (ASX:MND) has secured approximately $150 million of new resources-sector contracts, adding another sizeable tranche of work across its maintenance, minor projects and shutdown operations. The awards span three major customers and multiple Australian mining regions, but the company has not broken the aggregate value into individual contracts.

The largest disclosed commitment by duration is a four-year agreement with Rio Tinto to continue maintenance services and minor projects on marine infrastructure at the Dampier and Cape Lambert ports in Western Australia. It is a continuation of work rather than a newly described greenfield build, placing the emphasis on recurring services around two important export facilities.

BHP contract covers Ministers North facilities

Monadelphous has also won work with BHP at the Ministers North Project in the Pilbara. The scope includes establishing and maintaining temporary non-process infrastructure facilities and providing associated services, with completion expected by mid-2028.

The announcement does not state the value, commencement date or detailed commercial terms of the BHP award. That makes the headline $150 million figure useful as a measure of the combined contract package, but insufficient on its own to assess how much of the total will flow from each customer or when it will enter Monadelphous’ results.

Whitehaven shutdown work extends across two states

At Whitehaven Coal, Monadelphous has secured a three-year contract to provide shutdown services across the miner’s sites in Queensland and New South Wales. The agreement includes a two-year extension option, giving the work a potential five-year duration if that option is exercised, although the filing does not say whether an extension is expected.

The awards arrive after Monadelphous reported record FY26 revenue of $2.98 billion and net profit after tax of $127.3 million, alongside more than $680 million of new contracts secured since the financial year-end in recent coverage. The new announcement adds to that contract momentum, while leaving the key questions around margins, timing and earnings contribution for subsequent reporting.

Bottom Line?

The contract package strengthens Monadelphous’ multi-year workload, but its financial importance will depend on commencement timing, margins and the eventual Whitehaven extension decision.

Questions in the middle?

  • How much of the approximately $150 million package is attached to each customer and contract?
  • When will the Rio Tinto, BHP and Whitehaven work begin contributing to revenue?
  • Will Monadelphous disclose margin or earnings implications as the projects progress?
