Regis drilling extends gold beyond reserves and opens a new Moolart target
Regis Resources has extended gold mineralisation beyond existing reserves at Garden Well and identified fresh-rock mineralisation beneath the largely regolith-hosted Moolart Well deposit. Strong intersections at Beamish South are now feeding a Mineral Resource update and potential Ore Reserve assessment.
- Garden Well mineralisation extended about 200m south of the existing Reserve
- Beamish South drilling returned 14.3m at 4.6g/t gold
- Fresh-rock mineralisation intersected beneath Moolart Well open pits
- Tropicana drilling covered 105 holes for 41,599m
- Last Chance results carry significant uncertainty because of core loss

Duketon drilling pushes beyond existing gold reserves
Regis Resources Limited (ASX:RRL) has extended known mineralisation across its Western Australian portfolio, with the most consequential results coming from targets that sit close to existing mines and processing infrastructure. At Garden Well, diamond drilling confirmed gold mineralisation about 200m south of the Garden Well South underground Ore Reserve, returning 6.2m at 1.9g/t gold from 621m and 5.1m at 1.7g/t from 640.9m.

Further drilling is continuing at Garden Well South. The deposit hosts an underground Ore Reserve of 474koz after mining depletion of 175koz, based on figures as at 31 December 2025, but the latest intersections do not themselves alter that estimate.

Beamish South provides the clearest near-term resource conversion angle. Regis completed 110 holes for 15,707m, including 29 diamond holes, to finish resource definition drilling for a proposed open pit. Results included 14.3m at 4.6g/t gold from 304m, including 1m at 54.2g/t, alongside 20m at 1.8g/t and 17.1m at 2.2g/t in other holes. The company is updating the initial Mineral Resource of 7Mt at 1.1g/t for 270koz and will then optimise the project for Reserve estimation.
Moolart Well opens a fresh-rock exploration opportunity
At Moolart Well, four diamond holes tested conceptual targets below open pits where most historical production was hosted in the regolith. One hole at Moolart Well returned 1.7m at 7.8g/t gold from 536.4m, with narrower high-grade intervals including 0.6m at 41.9g/t. At nearby Moolart Central, drilling intersected 16.6m at 2.0g/t from 342m and a separate 0.4m interval at 35.2g/t.

Regis said the initial holes confirm fresh-rock gold mineralisation beneath the regolith-hosted deposit and support its exploration model. The company has yet to complete its full interpretation, so the significance and scale of the deeper opportunity remain unresolved. Its location near the Moolart Well mill is nevertheless a practical feature of the target, should further drilling establish continuity.
Rosemont extends the exploration story while Ben Hur awaits modelling

Rosemont drilling produced a mixture of narrow, high-grade results, including 0.5m at 164.3g/t gold and 2.5m at 23.2g/t. Regis is continuing infill work after earlier drilling indicated that mineralisation extended a further 600m along strike south of Rosemont Stage 3. That earlier programme was part of the Rosemont drilling update referenced in recent company coverage. Rosemont North was less encouraging, with results to date described as narrow and low grade in a structurally complex host rock; drilling is scheduled to resume in early 2027.

At Ben Hur, final assays from earlier drilling included 7m at 2.8g/t gold, while Regis is updating the underground Resource and assessing possible mining scenarios. The existing Exploration Target remains conceptual at 4.0Mt to 6.0Mt grading 2.2g/t to 2.8g/t for 300koz to 550koz, and the company stresses that further drilling may not result in additional Mineral Resources.
Tropicana returns broad underground intersections
Tropicana accounted for 105 holes and 41,599m of drilling during the period. Results included 20m at 2.3g/t gold and 15m at 3.6g/t at Swizzler, 12m at 6.1g/t at Havana South, and underground Havana intersections of 26m at 6.6g/t and 51m at 2.5g/t. Wildfire, a potential offset to the previously mined Havana 05 pit zone, returned 24m at 1.7g/t from 692m.

These results are being used to improve confidence in Inferred Mineral Resources and assess the potential for future underground mining areas. The intersections are reported as down-hole lengths, and the company has not declared a new Resource or Reserve in this update. In New South Wales, Kings Plains confirmed mineralisation along strike around 100m north and south of an earlier intersection, while Last Chance returned 1.3m at 11.1g/t and narrower high-grade intervals beneath historic workings.
Resource updates and drilling quality will decide the next step
The Last Chance results need particular care: significant core loss through the fault zone and mineralised contact means Regis says there is a high degree of uncertainty over their potential significance. The company is considering alternative drilling methods to improve core recovery. Kings Plains drilling is continuing on planned 200m-spaced lines, while further work at Garden Well, Moolart Well and Tropicana remains active.

The next hard test is whether the attractive intersections become coherent geological models rather than a collection of promising drill hits. Beamish South’s Resource update and Reserve optimisation, together with interpretation of Moolart’s deeper mineralisation and improved recovery at Last Chance, should provide the clearest evidence of how much of this exploration can move from possibility into mine planning.
Bottom Line?
The drilling expands Regis’s growth inventory, but the investment case still depends on continuity, updated Resources and eventual Reserve conversion rather than headline intersections alone.
Questions in the middle?
- Can Beamish South’s updated Resource support an economically viable Ore Reserve after pit optimisation?
- Will follow-up drilling show that Moolart Well’s fresh-rock mineralisation forms a continuous system near the existing mill?
- Can Regis resolve the core-loss uncertainty at Last Chance well enough to justify further exploration expenditure?
