Far East Gold Limited (ASX:FEG) is asking shareholders for fresh capital at a discount, offering up to A$30,000 each in new shares as it seeks to fund working capital and advance its Idenburg project. The non-underwritten share purchase plan prices the shares at A$0.10, 13% below the 2 November closing price and 20% below the five-day volume-weighted average price.
Discounted SPP Targets Idenburg Funding
Eligible shareholders recorded on 2 November, with registered addresses in Australia, New Zealand or Singapore, can apply for parcels ranging from A$1,000 to A$30,000. Shares issued under the plan will rank equally with existing ordinary shares from the date of issue, and participation does not require shareholder approval under the relevant ASX rules.

Final Capital Raised Remains Open
Far East Gold has not disclosed a target or maximum aggregate amount for the SPP. Because the offer is not underwritten, the eventual proceeds will depend on shareholder participation, leaving the amount available for project work and corporate funding unresolved until results are released.
Idenburg Work Carries the Funding Burden
The company said the proceeds will be applied to working capital requirements and the advancement of Idenburg. That project was previously supported by an placeholder, while management has also referred to an alliance memorandum of understanding with PT Puncakbaru Jayatama concerning the Bengkulu Gold Project.
Far East Gold expects the SPP to close on 20 November, with results due on 24 November and the new shares scheduled to begin trading on 27 November, subject to the indicative timetable changing. The immediate test is not the headline discount but whether shareholder demand produces enough cash to move Idenburg forward without leaving the company facing another funding question soon after.
Bottom Line?
The discount may support participation, but the non-underwritten structure means Far East Gold’s funding runway will remain unclear until the final take-up is known.
Questions in the middle?
- How much capital will the SPP ultimately raise without underwriting?
- Will the funds be sufficient to advance Idenburg’s planned work while covering working capital?
- What level of dilution will existing shareholders face once the new shares are issued?
