Freeport-McMoRan has approved a US$4.5 billion expansion of its Bagdad mine in Arizona, targeting more than double the operation’s mining and milling rates. Initial production is targeted for mid-2030, with the project expected to lift copper and molybdenum output while lowering long-term unit costs.
