Vulcan Energy has started commercial-scale production in Germany of VULSORB, the proprietary adsorbent at the centre of its planned direct lithium extraction process. The material will supply first-fill volumes for Project Lionheart, although lithium production remains targeted for the second half of 2028.

Argosy Minerals says laboratory-scale crystallisation testing has demonstrated a potential lithium chloride product yield above 99% at its 12,000-tonne-per-year Rincon project in Argentina. The results remove a key process uncertainty, but the project still depends on engineering completion, financing and a broader Definitive Feasibility Study.
