Gulf Stream Energy has assigned maiden Contingent Resources to two oil sands at its Zydeco-1 well in Louisiana and prepared a workover plan to test Homeseeker B. The opportunity remains unproven: the well has not flowed, no reserves have been booked and the deeper Tweedel gas target is still undrilled.

Metgasco’s independently assessed 2P reserves have fallen to 6.2 PJe from 36.45 PJe, despite unchanged gas-in-place estimates at its Odin and Vali fields. The company says the change reflects current capital expenditure plans rather than a geological reduction, with 31.45 PJe now classified as 2C contingent resources.

Vintage Energy’s independently assessed 2P reserves have fallen to 12.4 PJe from 72.9 PJe, largely because Cooper Basin volumes were reclassified as contingent resources. The company says gas in place at Odin and Vali is effectively unchanged, but larger-scale development now depends on capital commitments and drilling results.

Elixir Energy has agreed to farm out half of its interests across much of the Taroom Trough to Beach Energy for $25 million in cash and a four-year, $180 million gross carried work program. The deal could materially reduce Elixir’s funding burden, but completion still depends on several approvals and conditions.

Equus Energy has secured a binding conditional 10-year gas sales agreement with Alcoa covering about 50 TJ a day, while receiving US$1.5 million to fund the next stage of project partnering. The milestone strengthens the commercial case for the Equus Gas Project, but the development remains pre-FID and requires substantial capital, partners and approvals.

Kinetiko Energy’s Brakfontein test wells delivered sustained gas flows well above the commercial threshold used in its prior reserve assessment, strengthening the case for a staged South African development. But the company ended the year with just A$478,634 in cash and restricted funds, prompting its auditor to flag a material going concern uncertainty.

Gold Hydrogen has completed helium flow testing across all three Ramsay wells, confirming reservoir continuity over 2.2 kilometres and average air-corrected helium concentrations of 15.2%. The company is now accelerating modular pilot planning, but its headline 37 Mscf per well per day production figure remains modelled rather than demonstrated.

Cue Energy delivered $19.8 million in operating cash flow and maintained its dividend in FY2026, despite lower profit, shrinking reserves and asset impairments. With Horizon Oil now controlling 57.03% of the register, the company enters FY2027 with a new board and an unusually busy drilling schedule.
