Latest Mineral Resource Estimation News

Lodestar Minerals has received all assays from a 12,417-metre, 106-hole RC drilling program at Ned’s Creek, supporting its existing exploration target across three gold prospects. A maiden Mineral Resource Estimate is now expected in the second half of October, although reported widths remain subject to geological interpretation and true-width confirmation.

Forrestania Resources has increased the British Hill JORC Mineral Resource Estimate by 21% to 212,400 ounces of gold, with higher-confidence Indicated ounces rising 37%. Drilling is continuing, but the project remains at the resource and study stage rather than production.

Connected Minerals has made Angola’s Bailundo niobium and rare earths project its flagship after writing off A$3.40 million in Namibian and Western Australian exploration assets. The pivot is now backed by a completed A$4.5 million placement and a planned 6,000-metre drilling campaign, but Bailundo remains an exploration-stage project without a declared resource.

Orbit Resources enters FY2027 with a 17.52Mt Lewis Ponds resource, a preliminary study pointing to a A$481 million pre-tax NPV and a new polymetallic sulphide discovery outside the existing resource. The gains come with familiar junior-miner constraints: a A$3.49 million annual loss, A$3.69 million in cash and further funding still required.

Dundas Minerals has extended interpreted gold mineralisation at Rockland to about 170 metres below surface, led by a 4-metre interval grading 4.87 g/t gold. The early results strengthen the geological case for a 1-kilometre mineralised trend, but one-metre verification assays and more drilling are still required.

Aurum Resources has secured A$52.5 million from institutional investors to begin long-lead procurement and other early works at its Boundiali gold project before the definitive feasibility study is complete. The raise strengthens the balance sheet, but also adds 95.45 million shares ahead of two major technical milestones.

Ballard Mining has lifted the Mt Ida Gold Project’s global Mineral Resource Estimate by 56% to 1.84 million ounces, led by a larger Baldock deposit and new regional resources. The increase gives the planned feasibility study a much larger technical base, although most of the resource remains Inferred and is not yet an Ore Reserve.

Medallion Metals has shifted from project preparation to execution, with Ravensthorpe fully permitted, Forrestania acquired and Cosmic Boy refurbishment underway. The transition is funded by cash, equity and a US$50 million Trafigura facility, but production delivery and rehabilitation liabilities remain substantial tests.

Talonx Resources Limited (ASX:TXR) is positioning its portfolio around two distinct exploration propositions: a near-term maiden resource pathway at Viking’s Beaker 2 prospect and district-scale copper potential at Kihabe in Botswana. The September investor presentation largely repackages previously reported results, rather than announcing a new discovery or resource upgrade.

Basin Energy has begun preliminary leachability and XRD studies at its Newmans rare earth discovery, with follow-up drilling assays due imminently. The early-stage program adds a recoverability test to a project already showing a 3.3 km mineralised corridor in northwest Queensland.

Yandal Resources posted its busiest exploration year yet, expanding the Arrakis discovery and ending FY2026 with 450,200 ounces of reported resources and $9.7 million in cash. But a larger loss, material going-concern uncertainty and a CEO transition leave the company needing to convert drilling momentum into resources and renewed funding support.

Black Canyon has spent the 2026 financial year moving Wandanya from discovery towards resource definition, backed by 17,200 metres of drilling and encouraging manganese beneficiation results. The exploration company ended the year with $7.77 million in cash and no debt, but remains reliant on future funding before any development decision can be made.
