Meeka Metals has secured $40 million after costs through a two-tranche institutional placement priced at $0.10 a share, giving the gold producer fresh funding for Turnberry, Mt Holland and exploration. The capital raise comes as provisional September-quarter gold recovery reached 7,000 to 7,500 ounces and the company expects roughly $50 million in cash after the first tranche.

Meeka Metals has reported its first full-year profit as a gold producer, but the $51.3 million result came after a difficult second half and $107 million of growth investment. The company is now betting that higher-grade underground ore, processing upgrades and a fresh Mt Holland portfolio can improve cash generation.

Meeka Metals reports significant high-grade gold intersections well below the Turnberry Ore Reserve, coinciding with a strategic shift from open pit to underground mining amid contractor productivity issues.

Caprice Resources has completed the sale of a 75% stake in its West Arunta Project to Maverick Minerals for A$2.7 million cash, while preserving a free-carried interest and minority stakes. The deal bolsters Caprice’s cash position, enabling intensified focus on its Murchison gold assets and a maiden resource estimate this year.
