Pursuit Minerals posted an A$666,579 FY2026 profit, but the result was driven largely by a fair-value gain on its Kendrick Resources investment rather than operating revenue. The company’s more consequential development is in Argentina, where Rio Grande Sur now carries a 1.264 million tonne LCE resource, a maiden probable reserve and a pre-feasibility case for 5,000 tonnes per year of lithium carbonate.

Pursuit Minerals has started its first diamond hole at the Demasía tenement, testing whether lithium-bearing brines extend beyond the existing 1.264 million tonne LCE resource at Rio Grande Sur. Early packer tests recovered brine at shallow depths, but lithium assays are still pending.

Avenira led the week after securing an offtake deal covering more than 80% of expected Wonarah phosphate output. Copper, gold and rare earths explorers also gained, while several companies raised cash to fund drilling or mine construction.

Pursuit Minerals has secured environmental approvals to relocate its pilot plant to Rio Grande Sur and drill a new 500-metre hole at Demasía. The company has also applied to build commercial-scale evaporation ponds for its planned 5,000-tonne-per-year operation, although that approval remains outstanding.

Rare earths, scandium and biotech stocks led the week’s gains, while a rights issue sent Green & Gold Minerals sharply lower. Large capital raisings, mine funding and takeover activity kept resources at the centre of investor attention.

Critical minerals led the market, with Australasian Metals doubling after taking an option over West African lithium projects. Rare earth technology, scandium finance and gold drilling also drew attention, but many developers fell as investors questioned funding and delivery.

Pursuit Minerals has recorded its highest lithium brine assay at Rio Grande Sur, with a deep packer sample returning 809mg/L from the Mito tenement in Argentina. More than 20 additional samples from the completed hole remain pending, while drilling has moved to DDH-4.
