The company has also reaffirmed its target of reaching 330,000 tonnes of annualised lithium oxide concentrate production by year-end 2027.

Sigma Lithium has temporarily halted all mining and industrial production at its Grota do Cirilo operation in Brazil while awaiting a Federal Court of Appeals ruling over an environmental dispute involving Quilombola community rights. The company is maintaining its FY2027 production target of 330,000 tonnes, but has delayed its 240,000-tonne 12-month guidance by three months.

Rare earths, scandium and biotech stocks led the week’s gains, while a rights issue sent Green & Gold Minerals sharply lower. Large capital raisings, mine funding and takeover activity kept resources at the centre of investor attention.

Critical minerals led the market, with Australasian Metals doubling after taking an option over West African lithium projects. Rare earth technology, scandium finance and gold drilling also drew attention, but many developers fell as investors questioned funding and delivery.

Sigma Lithium says its Brazilian mining and processing operations remain active after reports of a preliminary court ruling allegedly suspending its environmental licences. The ASX-listed producer says it has received no legal notice and will begin its formal defence when Brazilian courts resume on September 8.
