VanEck’s nine ASX-listed equity ETFs produced sharply divergent FY2026 results, led by a $124.3 million profit at Small Companies Masters while Australian Equal Weight’s earnings fell heavily. The geared fund also reported a loss as borrowings nearly doubled to $48.6 million.

QEM Limited (ASX:QEM) has suspended non-essential work at its Julia Creek vanadium project after metallurgical results undermined the 2024 Scoping Study. The loss-making explorer is now relying on newly acquired Idaho projects, fresh capital and further exploration to justify its next chapter.

Embelton Limited (ASX:EMB) grew revenue, profit and operating cash flow in FY2026 despite subdued residential construction, while maintaining its 35-cent fully franked annual dividend. The flooring and engineering group is leaning further into infrastructure, data centres, healthcare and other commercial work, although its near-term contracting pipeline remains modest.

Brazilian Critical Minerals has reported striking economics for its Ema rare earths project, including a US$1.47 billion post-tax NPV, 105% IRR and six-month payback. The company’s A$7.87 million FY2026 loss, December debt maturity, permitting requirements and unresolved Drake dispute leave the development case dependent on execution and further funding.

Cobalt Blue has secured a US$150,000 contract to deliver key technical work for Glomar Minerals’ planned US polymetallic nodule refinery. The work takes Project Infinity into a formal Preliminary Economic Analysis, although the project remains at an early evaluation stage and its cost estimates carry a wide accuracy range.

EBR Systems has completed the FDA’s pre-approval inspection of its new Santa Clara manufacturing facility, receiving two Form 483 observations. The company says it expects to correct them in the fourth quarter and still anticipates approval by year-end, although the FDA has not yet made its final determination.

Element 25 has moved its Butcherbird manganese expansion from feasibility into project delivery, targeting mechanical completion and commissioning in the first quarter of calendar 2027. The company also strengthened funding and commercial support, although construction, financing conditions and the absence of FY2026 revenue leave execution as the central test.

Micro-X has secured an eight-month, US$0.75 million contract extension from the US Department of Homeland Security to upgrade its miniature CT baggage scanner for scaled manufacturing. The award advances a technology platform towards possible commercial use, but does not yet represent a product sale or customer deployment.

OpenLearning has signed a five-year LMS agreement worth a minimum A$1.75 million with one of the Philippines’ largest private education institutions. The contract does not begin until July 2027, but marks the company’s biggest LMS SaaS win in the country.

WhiteHawk has secured an unsecured A$1.5 million facility and says it does not currently expect to raise equity, after cutting annualised operating costs by about A$1.24 million. The funding comes at a 16% interest rate and must be repaid in full at maturity, leaving execution and cash receipts central to the plan.

Felix Group Holdings has secured A$5.54 million in institutional funding and launched a further A$1 million shareholder purchase plan as it pivots towards an open procurement platform. The ASX-listed software company is also guiding to at least 15% revenue growth in FY27.

Lotus Resources delivered first uranium production from Kayelekera in more than a decade, but its first operating year brought a $100.1 million loss, heavy cash burn and an auditor-highlighted material uncertainty over its ability to continue as a going concern. The mine produced 332.1 thousand pounds of U3O8 before acid supply problems forced a temporary processing pause.
