Latest Exploration Licences News

Image Resources has expanded the Mineral Resource at its Durack mineral sands project by 43% to 37.7 million tonnes, while lifting contained heavy minerals and zircon content. The upgraded estimate gives the company a stronger technical base for an economic evaluation due later in 2026, although changes to the cut-off and mineral definitions complicate direct comparisons.

Leeuwin Metals will acquire three Western Australian exploration tenements covering about 105km², including ground adjoining the Marvel Loch gold mine. The all-scrip deal requires no cash payment, but two of the licences remain applications and the exploration case is still at an early stage.

St Barbara will sell its remaining New Simberi interest and Tabar Islands exploration exposure to Lingbao for A$453 million in cash, while retaining royalties over future production. The deal could leave the gold developer with about A$880 million in cash, but completion still depends on regulatory and potentially shareholder approvals.

Westar Resources has identified three high-priority gold targets at its Jerrys Bore project after analysing 1,167 UltraFine+ soil samples. The anomalies coincide with gold pathfinder elements and interpreted structures, but drilling is still needed to establish whether buried mineralisation exists.

Cosmo Metals has secured a new exploration licence in New South Wales after reconnaissance work found copper-bearing outcrop and a selective rock chip sample grading 4.69% copper. The result is an early exploration signal, not evidence of a defined deposit, with mapping and further sampling still to come.

Kingfisher Mining has remade itself around a 700 square kilometre New South Wales exploration portfolio, with Copper Blow emerging as the flagship after high-grade drilling. The shift came alongside a $1.16 million FY2026 loss, $1.21 million in cash and an explicit reliance on future funding.

Golden Dragon Mining has extended the Cue Gold Project’s high-grade story, with Behring Bore returning 4 metres at 6.98 g/t gold and Coodardy mineralisation now defined across about 500 metres of strike. A larger 2,500-metre RC program will test whether the zones continue at depth and along strike.

DPM Metals has extended mineralization beyond the existing Dumitru Potok resource in Serbia, led by a 21-metre interval grading 5.44% copper equivalent. The company will add up to 15,000 metres to its 2026 drilling campaign as it works towards a resource update and preliminary economic assessment.

Magnum Mining has confirmed broad shallow TREO enrichment across the 8.3 km² Feirinha target in Brazil, led by a 15-metre interval grading 2,190 ppm. The result is encouraging, but recoverability and mineral continuity remain untested as the company shifts to laboratory work.

Caspin Resources has identified an 800-metre tungsten soil anomaly at Taylors Hill, where historical drilling returned high-grade tin and tungsten intersections. The results broaden the Bygoo Project beyond its established tin focus, although the strongest evidence remains untested historical data.

Tali Resources ended its first full year as an ASX-listed explorer with A$5.19 million in cash, a larger West Arunta exploration program and a A$1.48 million loss. The annual report also records a A$516,170 impairment after early drilling returned only moderately anomalous results, keeping the company firmly in the high-risk pre-discovery phase.

Aureka Limited is set to become a gold producer after signing a binding agreement to acquire High Grade Holdings, including the Fiddlers Creek underground mine and Wedderburn processing mill in Victoria. The majority scrip, low cash deal valued at $8.9 million unlocks immediate production and processing capacity for Aureka’s Victorian gold projects.
